"Peacock Meets Vasarely" in Lena-Patchwork

D  Es dauerte 16 monate, aber endlich ist sie da! Meine schwarz-weiße Tasche "Pfau trifft Vasarely" ist im "Lena-Patchwork". Sogar ein kleines Foto auf der Titelseite.

E It took 16 month but at last it´s happened - my bag "Peacock Meets Vasarely" is in the current issue of "Lena-Patchwork". Even at the cover there´s a little picture of it.

D  Ehrlich zu sagen, gefallen mir die Fotos nicht besonders. Erstens: man kann den Taschenriemen so gut wie nicht sehen und ich bin sehr stolz auf ihn. Zweitens: man sollte die Karabinerhaken unten nicht aufmachen, sonst unterscheidet sich die Tasche kaum von einem Kissenbezug. Also, meine eigene Fotos sind besser:

E I can´t say I like the photos. You can hardly see the handle and I´m very proud of the handle. And with the hooks unfastened it looks rather like a pillow case than a designer bag. My own photos are better:

D  Von den Seitennähten und dem Reißverschluss abgesehen, ist die Tasche völlig handgemacht, d.h. von Hand appliziert, gepatcht und gequiltet. Ich habe sie für unsere erste virtuelle Taschenchallenge namens "Round Secret" gemacht und mag sie sehr.

E Apart from the side seams and the zipper the bag is made entirely by hand. I´ve made it for our first virtual bag challenge "Round Secret" and I love it.

Autumn Leaves Blues... or something about

D Als in meiner Taschengruppe die neue Taschenchallenge "Autumn Leaves´Blues" angekündigt wurde, war ich mit dem Thema alles andere als zufrieden, obwohl ich selbst zu den Autoren gehörte. Ich war einfach in der Minderheit. Ich mag zwar Herbst und Herbstfarben sehr. aber nicht in der Kleidung und ich trage diese Farben nie. Nichtdestoweniger habe ich schon ein Projekt entworfen und die Stoffe ausgesucht - in den Blautönen. Da plötzlich wollte meine Tochter unbedingt und sofort eine neue Schultasche. Mein zierliches blaues Projekt war nicht robust genug für dieses Zweck, deswegen machte ich etwas strapazierfähigeres. Ich habe unzählige Stoffreste von der Firma "Tutta Natura", meistens sehr schöne Leinenstoffe. Und so war meine Antwort auf dringende Bedürfnisse des Nachwuchses:

E There was a new challenge in my bag group and I didn´t like it at all. The theme was "Autumn Leaves Blues". I like autumn and autumn colours but not in the outfit. I would never wear a bag in browns-oranges-golds-reds... Nevertheless I´ve made up my mind and started to collect nice blue fabrics for the leaves.  But then my dauther came and said that she badly needs a school bag. My fragile blue autumn project wasn´t sturdy enough for that, so I had to make something more wearable. I´ve found some nice linen scraps in my stash and made such a thing:

D Die blattformigen Teile wurden von Hand appliziert. Die Tasche ist hand- und maschinegequiltet:

E The "orange peels" are hand appliqueed. The whole is partly hand quilted, partly with the machine.

D Noch ein Paar kleine Details: Blätterchen am Reißverschluss, zusammengesetzte Taschengriffe - und die Schultasche ist einsatzbereit.

E I´ve added some little details: small leaves at the zipper tab, patched bag handles. There are enough pockets inside too.

D Eigentlich war das für mich gar keine Herbsttasche bis ich diese schönen Fotos machte. Auf diesem Hintergrung wirkt die Tasche zweifellos herbstlich:

E I didn´t consider the bag an autumn bag until I made this fotoshooting. With such background it really looks very... autumnal?..
